#RX3 | DIY | Orange Peel Tea Light

Cut, Peel, Pour and Light. Four easy steps to complete the cutest little DIY project! Here's another DIY thats super easy to execute! Make a sweet little decorative tea light out of your orange rind in a few easy steps. For this DIY you willl need:
Orange
Knife
Spoon
Lighter
Measuring tape and pen (optional)

Step 1 | Take your knife and make a small cut into the middle of the orange rind (close as possible to the middle).
This is where you have the option of using a measuring tape to record the exact middle point. You can use a pen to mark the middle points so that you don't have to count on yourself to create a straight line. Or, you can just trust yourself and make the cut. I did, it worked out great.
Step 2 |  Next you want to create a little incision with the spoon. I find this helps so you don't break the orange peel while removing it. Then use your thumb to liberate the orange from the rind. Make sure you do it slowly. You want to make sure your rind is intact and the inner stem (aka wick) hasn't broken.

Step 3 |  Now you take your olive oil and pour it into your orange rind. You want to pour it onto the stem of the inner peel. Then grab your lighter and light over the wick. It will take about 30 seconds to light, et voila!
Your tea light is complete!
Not only do you have a gorgeous little tea light, you've recycled what would have otherwise been thrown to the compost.
When you're tea light has finished burning, you can even save the olive oil in a little container for the next go.
